To Whom It May Concern:
I am a citizen who has witnessed the tragedies of Agent Orange in Vietnam personally. Therefore, I was very touched when I came across Children of Vietnam Veterans Health Alliance’s effort to seek relief for the victims of Agent Orange. To raise awareness about this issue and to hopefully speed up the passage of H.R. 2114, Victims of Agent Orange Relief Act of 2015, I have created a petition to whitehouse.gov. The text of the petition is included below. If it resonates with you and your members, I hope you will sign it. If the petition gets more than 150 votes, it will become publicly searchable for others to sign
You can view and sign the petition here:
Here’s some more information about this petition:
Expand American relief efforts for victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam and in the United States.
We petition to expand American relief efforts for victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam and in the US. Agent Orange causes many illnesses such as AL amyloidosis and chronic B-cell leukemia and birth defects. Even now, Agent Orange continues to devastate millions of Vietnamese and American families. Therefore, we ask you to support the Victims of Agent Orange Relief Act of 2015 introduced by Rep. Barbara Lee that calls for:
(1) Healthcare and social services for all affected Vietnamese, Vietnamese Americans, Americans, and their offspring, and
(2) Cleanup of dioxin hot spots in Vietnam, and restore the ecosystems there, and
(3) Extensive research into Agent Orange’s health effects in the US and in Vietnam.
We ask all concerned citizens to urge their representatives to pass this bill.
We are a small volunteer organization, and don’t stay up to date with the website as well as we should. I am sorry I missed your petition while it was open. I have been personally working on a film that would in part, bring awareness to HR 2114 (or its next iteration…)
Keep up the good fight!
