Luy has extremely limited learning capacity because of mental retardation. He has a very short attention span, so he isn't able to do required chores like keeping the rooms and play area clean. Part of the daily routine, besides school in the morning, is cleaning their house and the village grounds. Also, all of the children who are able to must help in the dining area by setting up tables, passing out the food trays, and cleaning afterwards before taking their afternoon naps (a Vietnamese ritual). I found this picture deceiving, because Luy appears very intense.
