LOAN
age 12
Loan, center front, is the smallest child at the village -- less than two feet. Loan is very bright, but doesn't go to school because of her size. Her three brothers and sisters are also disabled, but in a different way.
Getting a job in Vietnam has been difficult even for the healthiest, brightest and best educated. For those at the village, the chances have been almost nonexistent. But things are changing. The Vietnamese economy is growing yearly, so with proper rehabilitation and skills training, some of these children could be self-supporting in the future.
